What is Bristol Spoke Co?
After 6 years working with Ryan building up SpokesfromRyan we have decided to part ways.
Ryan has now moved to the beautiful Welsh valleys, I will be staying in Bristol cutting spokes to the same high standard.
New name, same quality spokes and service!
Ryan and I remain close friends and collaborators.

We’ve been in business since 2014 but, in truth, our wheel building story started well before. Founded by Ryan Downes, the journey began as a passion, was tempered in the bike shops of Bristol and finally grew into a profession with SpokesfromRyan and sister business RyanBuildsWheels.
Ryan is in business because he believes that exceptional wheels make exceptional bicycles. He passionately believes that anyone can learn to build exceptional wheels with a bit of dedication and with quality tools and components.
For workshop fettlers, the act of wheel building is an incredibly zen act that clears that mind and focusses the senses. For the trade, access to custom spokes, delivered fast and in any quantity is simply the most economical way to build wheels.
Who are we?
Bristol Spoke Co is run by a small team of passionate misfits, wheel-nerds and bike punks.
We’re a full-fledged workers co-op, meaning that we all co-own and run the business together. We all get an equal share of the hard work and all profits are ethically distributed between us. This is something that’s immensely important to us.
We put people over profit and feel we’ve created something truly special that’s more than the sum of its parts.
The Bristol Spoke Co team was brought together by a shared passion for the freedom of riding bikes, a desire to smash the system and the joy of wheel building.
